Cleveland School of Audio Recording

A 24-week course that is taught onsite at Lava Room Recording Studios. Beginning with the basic fundamentals of audio engineering and leading to more advanced skills used to create the industry's best sounding records. Working with a small group of students and 1-on-1 with a qualified instructor, students spend 2 days a week in lectures and/or labs where they dedicate 2-6 hours on each of those days mastering concepts, theories, and hands-on techniques of recording and mixing.

Outside of their required classroom/lab hours, students have access to some of the studios for open labs, during which they can apply and practice what they are learning that week. Students are also encouraged to sit in on real recording/mixing sessions taking place at Lava Room Recording.

At the end of the program, students are required to work with classmates to select an artist/band of their own and record and mix a song as their final project. This allows the student and the instructor to more accurately evaluate the knowledge and skills gained throughout the course. Upon finishing, students are rewarded with a certificate signifying the completion of the program and that they are equipped with the proper knowledge to begin a career in the industry.
